Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to measure page visits, sessions, and returning browsers. It uses cookies and receives technical information about your browser and visit. These statistics are estimates of readership, not a count of identified people.
We remove query strings and page fragments from the page address and referring address sent to Google Analytics. We do not send the words you enter in our search box. Automatic search, form, download, video, and outbound-click tracking are disabled. Google advertising signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our site configuration.
Reading and site performance
Our separate reading statistics record events such as opening a citation, using a contents link, continuing to another article, and reading further down a page. These records do not include your name, email address, search words, or raw IP address. We also use Vercel’s analytics and performance tools to understand page traffic and loading speed.
Your choices
You can manage or remove cookies in your browser. Google provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on and explains its practices in its privacy policy. Blocking analytics does not prevent you from reading our articles.
